Job Summary:
The Sewer is responsible for sewing cushion covers and pillow covers according to company specifications. This position requires attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to operate industrial sewing equipment efficiently in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Sew cushion covers, pillow covers, and other fabric products using industrial sewing machines.
- Follow production specifications, measurements, patterns, and work orders.
- Assemble fabric components, including zippers, welting/piping, borders, and closures as required.
- Inspect materials and finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain consistent stitch quality, alignment, and overall product appearance.
- Identify and report fabric defects, sewing issues, or equipment problems.
- Meet daily production goals while maintaining quality standards.
- Perform basic sewing machine maintenance, such as changing needles and threading machines.
- Keep workstations clean, organized, and safe.
Qualifications
- Previous sewing experience in a manufacturing, upholstery, or textile environment preferred.
- Experience operating industrial sewing machines preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
Skills
- Proficiency in machine sewing techniques.
- Knowledge of cushion and pillow cover construction preferred.
- Ability to accurately align fabric pieces.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Time management and productivity skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Frequent use of hands, wrists, and fingers.
- Ability to lift and move fabric bundles and finished products as needed.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality standards.
Working Conditions
- Indoor temperature controlled manufacturing facility.
- Regular use of industrial sewing equipment.
