VIA Satellite is hiring full-time Field Installation Technicians serving Johnstown, Richland, Ebensburg, Windber, Somerset, Portage, and surrounding areas.
No previous installation experience is required. This is a full-time W-2 employee position with benefits. We’ll provide paid training, and after successfully completing training, you’ll be assigned your own company vehicle. A valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle are required during training.
Training begins with one day in Indiana, PA. After that, you’ll complete 4–6 weeks of paid, hands-on field training with an experienced technician within a reasonable driving distance of your home. Once training is successfully completed, you’ll be assigned your own company vehicle and begin working independently in your local service area.

What You’ll Do
- Install and service Starlink internet systems (dish mounting, cabling, router setup)
- Install and service DISH satellite equipment
- Install smart home and security devices
- Deliver and activate mobile devices through our Boost Mobile partnership
- Educate customers on their new technology to ensure a great customer experience
- Recommend products and services that benefit your customers while earning additional incentives
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Successfully pass a criminal background check
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Comfortable using hand tools and climbing ladders up to 40 feet
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Comfortable learning new technology
Pay & Earning Potential
- Paid training starts at $18/hour.
- During your first year, most technicians earn the equivalent of $18–25/hour.

Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Climb and work from ladders up to 40 feet
- Work in attics, crawl spaces, and confined areas
- Bend, kneel, crouch, and stand throughout the workday
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions
