POSITION:Order Picker
DEPARTMENT:Picking
REPORTS TO:Supervisor, Picking & Shipping
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES:
Picking of orders, maintenance of inventory, and data entry in the warehouse. One hundred percent accuracy in picking. A neat and organised approach to the maintenance of our clients products. Timely and accurate processing and/or data entry of related paperwork.
TASK MANAGEMENT:
1. Pick orders in a timely manner using the WMS hand held.
2. Maintaining an average pick rate of 40 lines per hour minimum.
3. Pick the product per the Handheld Unit screen or picking slip making sure that the product picked matches as many of the following: the DGN item number, product description or the product item number printed on the product. Also make sure that the quantity, language and lot size matches the picking slip.
4. Fill out all required information on pick ticket & packing slip their employee number, and date picked when delivering order to shipping for processing.
5. Pack and/or check orders as required (method may vary by client). Some orders may require shrink wrapping and palletising for shipping.
6. Maintain the products in the warehouse by performing physical counts, scrapping and transferring, cleaning and organising of the bunks and the aisles.
7. Issuing of MTVs as required.
8. Lifting/moving packages up to 40lbs in weight while carrying out your duties.
9. May be required to work beyond the normal hours in order to meet customer requirements.
10. Adhere to government regulated health and safety requirements and company safe work practices.
11. Other tasks as assigned by your Supervisor.

· Follow all ISO & SQF policies as relates to Quality and Food Safety.
FOOD SAFETY:
· Follow all ISO & SQF policies as relates to Quality and Food Safety.
Always communicate Health & Safety and food safety rules to other staff, as applicable.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must be physically fit.
· Familiarity with a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
· Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English.
· Must be accurate and detail oriented.
· Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs on a continuous basis.
· Must be proficient in arithmetic.
Job Summary:

– Ensure accuracy and quality of packed items
– Operate warehouse management system to track inventory and shipments
– Assist with shipping and receiving tasks
– Build and assemble crates or containers for shipping purposes
Requirements:
– Ability to lift objects and perform physical tasks throughout the workday
– Familiarity with warehouse management systems is preferred
– Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures is beneficial
