Smallwood Design & Construction has provided custom home building and remodeling services to Bainbridge Island and the greater Puget Sound area for more than 40 years. We need a team player with great energy who can wear as many hats as needed. A high level of integrity and discretion is required when handling confidential and sensitive information. Responsibilities:
Bookkeeper
- Learn and understand specific accounting software
- Post & provide updated job progress information (estimates & costs)
- Prepare customer invoices and accounts receivable reports
- Prepare and make deposits
- Prepare and maintain payroll and personnel records
- Monitor and maintain all corporate insurance
- Reconcile bank statements
- Process payables
- Compute and submit all quarterly, yearly tax reports
- Maintain all job files
- Work closely with customers to maintain positive relationships while closely monitoring project records.
Office Manager
- Greet office guests
- Answer all incoming calls
- Customer/client relations
- Receive and process incoming mail
- Maintain and shop for office supplies
- Manage all company accounts
- Oversee office equipment maintenance
- Prepare routine correspondence and documentation
- Regularly meet with owners to review documents and company direction
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational and planning skills with a high attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to manage time, prioritize daily activities and multi-task
- The ability to work well in a team environment and independently
- Ability to work in an office with pets (dogs)
- Exude a positive and professional demeanor
- Excellent attendance and punctuality required
- Previous experience in construction industry a plus
- Extensive knowledge of an Accounting System and Microsoft Suite products
- Bachelor’s or Associates Degree and 2+ years’ experience in accounting
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 – $35.00 per hour
