Smallwood Design & Construction has provided custom home building and remodeling services to Bainbridge Island and the greater Puget Sound area for more than 40 years. We need a team player with great energy who can wear as many hats as needed. A high level of integrity and discretion is required when handling confidential and sensitive information. Responsibilities:
Bookkeeper

  • Learn and understand specific accounting software
  • Post & provide updated job progress information (estimates & costs)
  • Prepare customer invoices and accounts receivable reports
  • Prepare and make deposits
  • Prepare and maintain payroll and personnel records
  • Monitor and maintain all corporate insurance
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Process payables
  • Compute and submit all quarterly, yearly tax reports
  • Maintain all job files
  • Work closely with customers to maintain positive relationships while closely monitoring project records.

Office Manager

  • Greet office guests
  • Answer all incoming calls
  • Customer/client relations
  • Receive and process incoming mail
  • Maintain and shop for office supplies
  • Manage all company accounts
  • Oversee office equipment maintenance
  • Prepare routine correspondence and documentation
  • Regularly meet with owners to review documents and company direction

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with a high attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time, prioritize daily activities and multi-task
  • The ability to work well in a team environment and independently
  • Ability to work in an office with pets (dogs)
  • Exude a positive and professional demeanor
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality required
  • Previous experience in construction industry a plus
  • Extensive knowledge of an Accounting System and Microsoft Suite products
  • Bachelor’s or Associates Degree and 2+ years’ experience in accounting

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 – $35.00 per hour
