The Body Shop Estimator is responsible for inspecting vehicle damage, preparing accurate repair estimates, and driving revenue through strong customer engagement and insurance coordination. This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring a seamless experience from initial assessment through repair completion.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Damage Assessment
- Inspect vehicles to assess damage and determine required repairs
- Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates using industry-standard software (e.g., CCC, Mitchell, Audatex)
- Identify all necessary parts, labor, and materials for complete repairs
- Ensure estimates comply with OEM standards and insurance guidelines
- Update and revise estimates as needed throughout the repair process
Customer Sales & Service
- Greet customers and guide them through the repair process
- Explain estimates, repair timelines, and costs in a clear, professional manner
- Build trust and convert estimates into approved repair jobs
- Maintain consistent communication with customers regarding repair status
- Handle customer concerns and ensure high satisfaction
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in auto body estimating, collision repair, or automotive sales
- Proficiency with estimating platforms (CCC ONE preferred)
- Strong understanding of collision repair processes and vehicle construction
- Experience working with insurance companies and claims processes
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- High attention to detail and organizational ability
