Noble Education Initiative (NEI) delivers a wide range of services from leadership and board development to grant management and operational oversight of entire schools, districts, and organizations. We partner with K-12 education, higher education, and advocacy organizations to develop teacher leaders, individual school leaders, school and/or company strategic plans, and organization development for transformational change.

Currently, NEI manages six tuition-free, public charter schools in Tennessee and Georgia. NEI operates a non-degree certification program called New Educator Preparation Program (NEPP) for undergraduate and graduate students who wish to become teachers and provides customized teacher and leadership development for over 100 schools. NEI aims to provide solutions for the teacher training and shortage issues in the United States.

JOB PURPOSE

Create and implement a flexible program and classroom environment favorable to student learning and personal growth. Develop lesson plans and learning activities using hands-on material that are consistent with established guidelines. Establish effective rapport with students, staff members and parents. Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge to provide an effective educational foundation, in accordance with each student’s ability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Instruction/Education Responsibilities

· Plans and implements a program of instruction that adheres to the organization’ philosophy, goals and objectives as outlined in the adopted courses of study

· Makes purposeful and appropriate lesson plans which provide for effective teaching strategies and maximizes time on task

· Adopting a data-driven attitude towards measuring learner progress

· Developing STEM learning activities using hands-on materials for classes

· Attending to individual student needs

· Demonstrating an awareness of different student backgrounds and cultures

· Monitoring student growth to identify strengths and areas for improvement

· Using learner data to constantly refine your curriculum

· Teach coding, animation, stop motion, etc.

· Teach basic computer skills such as typing, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Provide a Classroom Environment Conductive to Learning

· Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students

· Ensures classroom is clean, safe and includes student generated work on display as appropriate

· Implements all relevant policies governing student conduct

· Develops reasonable rules of classroom/playground behavior in accordance with Noble Education Initiative’s policy and guidelines, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and consistent manner

Instructional Planning

· Develop lesson plans consistent with established guidelines and goals

· Plans individual and group learning activities designed to meet instructional objectives and student needs

· Participates with other staff members in curriculum planning during designated meetings

· Incorporates into planning all diagnostic information as required in the student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP)

· Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect supplies, equipment, materials, and facilities needed to implement effectively the planned instructional program

School/Community Relations

· Strives to establish cooperative relations and makes reasonable effort to communicate with parents/guardians when appropriate

· Communicates clearly, consistently, and positively with parents via all appropriate mediums

· Cooperates with members of the administration and other staff

· Maintains confidentiality about students

· Attends parent communication activities

· Participates in extracurricular activities as required

JOB REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s degree (BA) from an accredited college or university or equivalent

· Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years successful teaching experience (may include Student Teaching Internship experience)

· Possession of valid teaching certification (as appropriate)

· Appropriate background in mathematics and science

· Understanding of and commitment to the organization’s values

· Successful results of criminal and employment background check

· Adherence to the requirements of the Code of Ethics for the Education Profession

· Such alternatives to the above requirements as Nashville Collegiate Prep may find appropriate and acceptable

· Proficiency with basic computer software

· Classroom management skills

· Ability to cooperate in a team setting

Family & School Engagement: As a vital part of our community, we expect the following as basic contributions to our high-performance culture:

  • Communicate regularly and positively with families
  • Attend all scheduled parent nights and required school events held outside of the regular school day
  • Participate in at least four (4) school-wide events during the academic year
  • Partner with families to support student learning and development

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

· Minimal physical exertion required. 

· 25% Travel within or outside the State of TN.

TERMS OF EMPLOYEMENT

· Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with NEI salary and benefit policy. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by Noble Education Initiative.

FLSA OVERTIME CATEGORY
