This role is ideal for Medical Office Assistant seeking Canadian clinical exposure while working within a non-regulated support role under physician supervision.The successful candidate will support both clinical operations and administrative workflows, contributing to efficient, high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and support clinic flow
- Input, edit, and maintain electronic medical records and correspondence
- Collect patient information, medical histories, medications, and allergies
- Record vital signs and prepare patient charts for physician review
- Draft clinical notes, referral letters, and summaries for physician sign-off
- Assist physicians during minor procedures by preparing rooms and equipment
- Coordinate referrals, follow-ups, and diagnostic test tracking
- Provide physician-approved patient education and instructions
- Maintain confidential patient records in compliance with PHIPA
- Support billing, insurance forms, and basic administrative tasks
Qualifications
- Medical Office Assistant diploma or equivalent experience preferred
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Knowledge of EMRs and clinical workflows is an asset
- Phlebotomy experience is an asset (training may be provided)
