This role is ideal for Medical Office Assistant seeking Canadian clinical exposure while working within a non-regulated support role under physician supervision.The successful candidate will support both clinical operations and administrative workflows, contributing to efficient, high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and support clinic flow
  • Input, edit, and maintain electronic medical records and correspondence
  • Collect patient information, medical histories, medications, and allergies
  • Record vital signs and prepare patient charts for physician review
  • Draft clinical notes, referral letters, and summaries for physician sign-off
  • Assist physicians during minor procedures by preparing rooms and equipment
  • Coordinate referrals, follow-ups, and diagnostic test tracking
  • Provide physician-approved patient education and instructions
  • Maintain confidential patient records in compliance with PHIPA
  • Support billing, insurance forms, and basic administrative tasks

Qualifications

  • Medical Office Assistant diploma or equivalent experience preferred
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Knowledge of EMRs and clinical workflows is an asset
  • Phlebotomy experience is an asset (training may be provided)
