Primary Position:

The individual in this position will follow the Canadian food guide to guarantee all children within the center have received a nutritious and well-balanced meal. The person will ensure all meals are completed on time and delivered to the rooms by the times stated below. The individual will adhere and pay strict attention to the allergies and dietary restrictions within the center. In addition to meal prepping, the individual will abide by Alberta Health and Safety Standards and make certain that the kitchen and equipment is frequently cleaned and sanitized, all kitchen duties are of your responsibility to establish a safe and clean working environment, this includes but not limited to dishes, utensils, counters, cupboards, drawers, oven, stove top, dishwasher, 9fridges, freezers, cooking equipment and tools, and pantries.

Roles & Responsibilities:

· Preparing nutritious and balanced meals

· Cooking alternative meals for dietary restricted children

· Aware of current allergies, sensitivities and intolerances throughout the center.

· Follow the Canadian Food Guide.

· Adhere to Alberta Health and Safety Regulations.

· Following the planned menu.

· Revising menu with Director when necessary.

· Strong organization and cleanliness skills.

· Proper sanitization to all equipment.

· Correct food storage.

· Clean fridge, stove, pantry, freezer, etc. (no spoiled food, frequently wiped clean, sanitized as needed)

· Completing a grocery list for the upcoming week(s).

· Delivering meals to each classroom prior to mealtimes.

· Dishwashing, drying and putting away dishes.

· Janitorial & cleaning duties.

· Assisting in cleaning duties within the center when necessary.

Performance and Expectations:

· Friendly and positive attitude.

· Communicating and interacting with other staff members.

· Good Time management.

· Appropriate Hygiene (hair pulled back, hand washing, etc.)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $17.00 per hour

Flexible Language Requirement:

French not required
