About us
The Long Table Social Club is a small business in Scots Bay, NS. We are customer-centric, social, collaborative, and our goal is to provide a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, a meal that is fresh, made with high quality local ingredients, and hospitality that makes the experience simply unforgettable .
The Long Table Social Club in Scots Bay is a destination restaurant that is growing in popularity. After three successful seasons, we will be opening our third season on May 9th and we’re looking to fill the Daytime Lead Cook role.
About the Job
This role is an opportunity for an independent, self-starter to prepare ingredients for lunch and dinner services, while working independently to cook and plate meals during our lunch service.
This role is pretty unique in the service industry, as a Daytime Lead Cook you start at 10am and finish between 4pm and 7pm depending on how busy we are and can enjoy your evenings this summer while following your passion for cooking! This role is scheduled for 30-40 hours per week, with a 4-day service week and one shorter prep day (Wednesdays are delivery and prep days).
You will work independently to serve our brunch and lunch menu items until 4pm, when the menu changes over and you help the Dinner Team get through the dinner rush.

Job Responsibilities:
Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment, with proper food handling and storage procedures
Ensuring that all prep work and products are lined up ahead of meal times
Preparing meals to order with an eye to presentation
Review and manage food and cleaning supply inventory
Provide input to menu design and new dishes
Practice hygienic food handling, preparation and serving techniques
Organize coolers daily ensuring all items are covered, labelled and dated
Work closely with team members, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across duties

Contract length: 5.5 months
Salary: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
