Duties
- Perform professional hair styling services including cuts, blowouts, coloring, and special occasion styles with precision and flair
- Apply hair extensions using various techniques to enhance length, volume, or style as requested by clients
- Conduct consultations to understand client needs, recommend suitable treatments, and educate on hair care routines
- Manage appointment scheduling efficiently using salon software such as MINDBODY to maximize client flow and satisfaction
- Maintain impeccable sanitation standards by cleaning tools, stations, and work areas according to health regulations
- Offer additional services such as eyelash extensions, nail care, makeup application, and hair threading to provide comprehensive beauty solutions
- Upsell retail products related to hair care and styling tools through effective communication and customer service skills
Experience
- Proven experience as a professional hairstylist or barber with a strong portfolio of diverse styling techniques
- Knowledge of color theory for customized coloring services that complement individual skin tones and preferences
- Skilled in the use of straight razors for precise detailing and grooming finishes
- Familiarity with salon management tasks including retail sales, retail math calculations, front desk operations, and mentoring junior staff
- Experience working with salon software platforms like MINDBODY for scheduling, client management, and sales tracking
- Strong communication skills to build rapport with clients, understand their needs, and provide expert recommendations
- Certification in Cosmetology or Barbering from an accredited program is required; additional certifications in eyelash extensions or nail care are a plus
