2nd Shift Maintenance Mechanic
TD Fiber, based in High Point, NC, is a 100+ year-old firm in the non-woven industry. Our customers include premium brands in upholstered furniture, bedding and mattress, automotive, packaging and related segments.
We are currently recruiting for an industrial mechanic. Duties include: completing repairs and preventative maintenance on production equipment, trucks/trailers, and facilities.
Candidates must be 21 years old and have at least 3 years of maintenance experience. Mechanics will have some on-call duties after hours and on weekends.
Responsibilities
The mechanic assists in maintaining and repairing:
- Three operating facilities (roughly 160,000 total sf)
- Nonwoven Machines in our production and converting equipment
- Tractor-Trailers used by our transportation department
- Complete written records of work performed
- Perform typical PM1 type maintenance
- Ensures all machinery and equipment is used in a safe way
Qualifications
Must have as minimum, working knowledge of 3 of the 5 following categories:
- Hydraulics
- Pneumatics
- Combustion Furnaces
- Mechanical
- Electrical
Top candidates will have additional experience with:
- Welding & Fabrication
- VFD, PLC’s
- Shop Equipment
- Fabrication
Physical Requirements
- Variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working from lift baskets, ladders, scissor lifts, exposure to high heat
