JOB SUMMARY:
The slot technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of slot machines, coin sorters and wrappers and related casino equipment. The slot technician also performs periodic preventive maintenance and diagnostic procedures and participates in the installation or removal of slot machines and arcade equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Repairs malfunctioning arcade and/or slot machines; places defective machines out-of-service
- Performs preventive maintenance on arcade and/or slot machines, coin handling machines and related equipment
- Assists in training other technicians in all aspects of machine maintenance and repair
- Monitors machines to determine excessive fills, and high or low hold percentages
- Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment
- Performs preventive maintenance or repairs on arcade machines
- May be required to participate with the accounting department in unloading the contents of slot machines
- Records the date, time and action taken each and every time arcade and/orslot machine is opened
- Works the floor assisting customers and department employees when not engaged in repair or maintenance duties
- Performs other department related duties as assigned by manager
- Adheres to reporting and/or recording responsibilities relative to the Bank Secrecy Act.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of electronics or slot machines
Good interpersonal skills
Good decision-making and problem-solving skills
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have an IRGC gaming license.
Ability to tend to details.
Capable of working without close supervision.
Must be alcohol and illegal drug free.
MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The employee is regularly required to see; talk; hear; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move and apply force of 25 pounds.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED.
MINIMUM LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical journals. Have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions one-on-one or from groups of managers, employees, customers and the general public.
MINIMUM MATHEMATICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry. Ability to calculate figures such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
MINIMUM REASONING SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is in the casino or in a clean office. The noise level is moderate with minimal exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
