Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Water Jet Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate high-pressure water jet cutting equipment to precisely shape and cut a variety of materials, ensuring high-quality output for our production processes. Your expertise in machine operation, programming, and quality control will be vital in maintaining efficient workflows and meeting production standards. Duties
- Set up and operate water jet cutting machines, ensuring proper calibration and safety procedures are followed.
- Program water jet equipment using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) files and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to produce accurate cuts.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to meet precise dimensions.
- Maintain and troubleshoot CNC (Computer Numerical Control) systems, Fanuc controls, and programmable logic controllers for optimal machine performance.
- Handle materials safely using forklifts and other materials handling equipment; prepare raw materials for cutting processes.
- Perform routine inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and quality standards.
- Conduct quality control checks on finished parts, ensuring adherence to specifications and documenting results for process improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating water jet cutting machines or similar CNC machining equipment in a manufacturing or factory setting.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming, CAD design, CAM programming, and CNC lathe/milling machines.
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls, programmable logic controllers, stamping presses, press brake machines, welding techniques, and fabrication processes.
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and apply GD&T principles for precise manufacturing outcomes.
- Mechanical aptitude with hands-on skills using hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Experience with factory safety protocols, materials handling equipment such as forklifts, and warehouse operations.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurement calculations and process adjustments.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality assurance in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience working in manufacturing facilities that emphasize machining, fabrication, assembly line operations, or packaging is highly desirable.
