Ward Clerk – Permanent Full Time – Emergency Department Jobs in Midland at Georgian Bay General Hospital
In keeping with the mission and values of the organization as a member of the interdisciplinary team, this position provides assistance and support to the direct client care providers on the unit in a client-focussed environment.
The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate communication and complete the clerical duties essential to the functioning of the nursing unit.
Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Grade 12 education or equivalent
Previous experience in a health-related setting
Excellent computer skills in MSOffice word processing and spreadsheet programs
Ability to utilize Meditech computer and systems
Demonstrated appreciation and respect for protocol, professionalism, and confidentiality
Completion of medical terminology course
Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize the workload and multi-task
Ability to work efficiently independently and in a teamwork environment
Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
ASSETS
Experience transcribing physicians’ orders
Ward Clerk Certificate or Nursing Unit Clerk Certificate
Bilingual – English and French

HOURS OF WORK
Permanent Full Time. Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the SEIU collective agreement.
COMPENSATION
$27.95 – $28.60 an hour
