PlugandPlay Talent is partnering with a growing Canadian technology company to identify a Vice President, Finance who will play a key role on the executive leadership team.
This is an opportunity for a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys balancing strategy with execution. Reporting directly to the President, the VP, Finance will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership while overseeing the company's finance function, legal oversight, and business planning activities.
We're looking for someone who is equally comfortable in the boardroom and in the details—someone who can help guide business decisions, build strong financial processes, and lead a high-performing team. You are managing a team of 10-12 people.
You May Be a Great Fit If You Have…
- Experience leading the full finance function, including accounting, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting. You are a hands-on leader who has built models and forecasts, then used the resulting data to influence business decisions. You can still use Power BI
- You have worked with founders, CEO's, maybe private equity, and are used to being part of the senior leadership team
- Experience with raising capital, exits, M&A as well as external auditors, banks, and other
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to connect financial performance to broader business outcomes. Everyone says they have this, you will have stories that prove it.
- Experience building financial models, forecasting future performance, and providing data-driven recommendations. This is a technology/service business with a large amount of transactions, making forecasting trickier than normal
- Partnering closely on legal, compliance, contracts, governance, and risk management matters.
- A reputation for being pragmatic, transparent, and solutions-oriented, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills. You are leading a team of 12, and prior experience leading finance teams is a must.
- Thrived in growing organizations where adaptability, initiative, and business partnership are highly valued.
