Underwriting Associate

Responsibilities:

As an Underwriting Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting our underwriting operations. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Assisting in the underwriting process for new business, renewals, and endorsements.

Monitor Deals and follow-ups to ensure deals are submitted via our submission platforms.

Reviewing applications, analyzing risk factors, and determining appropriate terms and conditions for coverage.

Conducting thorough analysis of Property Value, Credit Reports, and other relevant documents to assess the overall deal.

Collaborating with BDM to evaluate complex risks and develop solutions.

Communicating with brokers, agents, and clients to obtain necessary information and clarify underwriting requirements.

Maintaining accurate records and documentation of underwriting activities.

Write up the deal and follow documentation requests throughout the process to ensure that all required information is captured to ensure a seamless approval process.

Proactively engage with the underwriting team ensuring deal approvals in a timely manner.

Follow up with brokers to ensure lawyer requirements are completed, and files are funded in a timely manner

Staying updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in underwriting.

Represent Lendfinity at events, seminars, and meetings.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

Knowledge and experience in the Canadian Mortgage/Real estate industry.

Minimum of 1 year of sales and customer service experience, preferably in the financial services industry.

Post-secondary education or equivalent is preferred.

A problem solver with proven problem-solving skills and agility to anticipate and handle any task assigned.

A skilled prioritizer who understands and prioritizes workflow while taking the initiative to begin, track, and complete tasks and/or projects.

A strong communicator. Strong written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Proficient with technology, including working efficiently and effectively within a Mac-based environment using multiple software platforms such as Word/Excel/PowerPoint, Google Slides, and Google Docs.

Someone who gets the job done and is flexible to work outside of core business hours when needed
