Arborist, Tree Climber Specialist
Independent Tree is currently hiring an experienced tree climber/bucket operator for our tree crew. This position is excellent for an individual who loves the outdoors and who has a background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
Candidates for this position should be enthusiastic and experienced with the skills needed to safely complete assigned work.
What candidates should possess:
- Valid drivers license (subject to MVR review). CDL a plus
- Prior tree climbing Experience
- Experience with proper pruning practices including large shade trees and ornamentals
- Ability to identify common tree and shrub species and have a working knowledge of each species’ characteristics
- Knowledge of common tree climbing/rigging knots
- Ability to climb without spurs
- Experience with tree care safety standards
- Practical knowledge of chainsaw and equipment operation
- Experience with aerial lifts (bucket truck) a plus
- Attention to detail and desire for quality work in all operations
- Ownership mentality
- Excellent communication skills

- Enjoy working as a team in varying weather conditions
Job duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for the client and to ANSI standards
- Installation of cables and bracing systems
- Climb trees!
- Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
- Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
- Assist ground crew on job site
- Maintain a safe & clean work environment
- Participate in ongoing safety training and development
