Transformer Lead Technician (Direct Hire)
Golden, CO | Full-Time | 75%+ Travel | $35–$40/hr DOE
GO Personnel is hiring a Transformer Lead Technician for a top electrical services company. This is a direct hire position with full benefits starting on Day 1.
This role is built for an experienced field technician who can lead crews, manage projects, and perform high-level transformer work on job sites across the region.
Position Overview
This is a travel-based field role (75%+ travel). When not on the road, the technician reports to the Golden, CO office. All travel expenses are fully covered by the employer.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead crews in the installation, maintenance, and repair of power transformers
- Work on oil-filled and distribution transformers
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair transformer issues in the field
- Perform and oversee electrical testing, including:
- Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA)
- Insulation resistance testing
- Turns Ratio Testing (TTR)
- Power factor testing
- Oversee oil processing, vacuum filling, and related procedures
- Coordinate scheduled maintenance and emergency repair work
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Train and mentor junior technicians
- Communicate with clients and complete service reports/documentation
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience with power transformers or high-voltage equipment
- Strong understanding of transformer systems and field operations
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage job sites independently
- Experience with electrical testing equipment
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively
- OSHA 10/30 preferred
This is a leadership-level field role, not an entry-level technician position.
