Job Overview
Lead technician responsible for the overall safety, welfare, and productivity of an independent two-technician tower crew where the lead tech is one of the two technicians.
Both technicians will be certified climbers and rotate climbs.
Primary task will be to repair and maintain microwave links operated by T-Mobile.
This will include troubleshooting and communicating directly with T-Mobile technicians, replacing antennas, radios, feedlines, surge protectors, power supplies, etc. as needed to restore and/or improve microwave link capabilities.
Additional L&A and miscellaneous work may be performed. No structural work.
Primary service area will be within 2 hours of our central office, i.e., Destin, FL through New Orleans, LA, and as far North as Evergreen, AL. There will be exceptions.
The goal will be to be home nightly. Per Diem will be paid when overnight travel is required.
Per Diem rate will follow the federal standards of $110/night, $68 for a full day, $51 for a partial day.
Lead tech will be responsible for:
Overall safety and productivity of the crew to include JHA’s and adherence to industry safety standards.
Primary communications and tracking/reporting of daily activities.
Timely and accurate submission of all required closeout documentation.
Entering information into the TMO service portal.
Time and a half after 40 hrs per week
Bi-Weekly ACH deposit
Type: Full-Time Permanent, W-2
Shift/Schedule: M-F, 50 Hr weeks expected.
Weekends as needed
Location: Robertsdale, AL – Central Office
2-4 hour radius.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of tower experience specific to microwave and/or line and antenna work.
Proficiency in troubleshooting fiber-optics, category cabling, coax, power, IP, etc.
Proficiency in aligning microwave dishes to achieve desired signal levels.
Physical ability to climb and work at heights up to 500’.
Computer skills: IP addressing, network testing, Microsoft and Windows basics.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Must be able to pass DOT physical and drug test.
Documented leadership experience is a plus.
TMO / cellular carrier experience is a plus.

Pay: $28.00 – $33.00 per hour
