Join our boutique-style thrift store as a Thrift Store Clerk. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop retail skills while making a positive impact on our customers and community.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service throughout their shopping experience
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently for sales transactions, returns, and exchanges
- Assist with merchandising by organizing and stocking shelves to keep the store attractive and accessible
- Conduct product demos when necessary to highlight special items or promotions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, fitting rooms, and checkout area
- Handle cash, credit card payments, and other forms of payment accurately while practicing proper cash handling procedures
- Support inventory management by receiving, tagging, and stocking new donations or merchandise
- Requirements
- Previous retail sales experience preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for cash handling and transactions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively
- Ability to perform merchandising, stocking, and retail math accurately in a fast-paced setting
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude
