Job Summary
The Swamper takes direction and performs duties with assigned drivers in order to ensure completion of a job or task safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
Management serves the right to change or modify the functions of the job as required to meet the needs of the organization.
- Works with ethics, honesty, values and integrity. Provides a position of professionalism to others.
- Watches the truck at all times to avoid running into or over equipment on location.
- Performs work on the ground while the assigned driver operates the truck.
- Checks equipment to loaded for readiness and that all miscellaneous equipment attached to that load is secured for movement as conditions apply.
- Ensures all required safety equipment is in the unit prior to performing job.
- Helps secure the load correctly and safely.
- Communicates with the driver and supervisor to understand what is needed for each job assignment.
- Fosters a positive working relationship with co-workers, customers, clients and management.
- Completes all safety and equipment related trainings required on a monthly basis.
- Responsible for answering company issued cell phone during on call hours, in accordance with company and safety policies.
- Any other duty, responsibility or task as assigned by the supervisor.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Swamper or in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
- High School or GED equivalent
- Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, customers, clients and management.
- Must be comfortable in an environment that is occasionally high stress.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 – $18.00 per hour
