Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Steel Framer role based in Vancouver, BC. The Steel Framer will install and assemble structural and non-structural steel framing for interior walls, ceilings, and partitions according to drawings and specifications. Responsibilities include measuring and laying out work areas, cutting and fastening steel studs and tracks, and coordinating with drywall and finishing crews to ensure quality and alignment. The role involves safe and efficient use of hand and power tools, daily site cleanup, and adherence to safety regulations and company standards. The Steel Framer will work as part of a site team, communicating with supervisors and trade partners to keep projects on schedule.

Qualifications

  • Strong framing skills, including experience with steel framing and layout for walls, ceilings, and partitions.
  • Proficiency in carpentry and finish carpentry for interior construction and integration with other building components.
  • Skilled use of hand tools (e.g., tape measures, levels, snips) required for precise measuring and installation.
  • Safe and competent use of power tools (e.g., drills, screw guns, saws) in a construction environment.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of construction site safety practices and commitment to following all safety policies and regulations.
  • Previous experience in commercial or residential interior construction is an asset.
  • Ability to work on ladders and scaffolding, lift materials, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively with diverse site teams and trades.
  • Completion of relevant trade training, apprenticeship, or equivalent field experience is preferred.
