Your Opportunity:
As a Social Worker I at the Overdose Prevention Site, you will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team that provides mental health services to individuals who are active in addiction or illicit substance use., You will be responsible for providing warm hand offs and referrals to clients to allow them to access appropriate community and government services and support, along with other recovery-oriented services. You will be meeting clients where they are at in the community, within the downtown core of Red Deer on an outreach basis, as well as on site at the OPS or other AHS AMH Programs. You will also be required to assist with day-to-day operations within the OPS on occasion.
Description:
As a Social Worker I, you will be a member of a multi- disciplinary team that provides mental health services to individuals, families and/or groups at a community based facility. You will be responsible for the initial screening of patients by gathering and documenting client information, basic assessment and providing support to clients and their families’ short-term needs. You will liaise with and refer clients to appropriate community and government services and support, along with participating in case conferences and team meetings.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of diploma in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Previous experience working with housed and unhoused individuals with substance use disorder. Naloxone Training. Understanding of the services and social supports available in Red Deer. Experience in Addiction and Mental Health.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Supervised Consumption Services. AHS ID Training.
