If you are looking to make a difference, and to share our vision “to be the most appealing, livable, and well-managed community in Canada”, then please apply.OverviewReporting directly to the Program Manager, Social Development, the Social Planning Analyst will be responsible for a variety of planning duties related to advancing accessibility, poverty reduction and the Recreation Fee Subsidy Program, including undertaking tasks related to research, data analysis, and policy and program evaluation to support the development, implementation and ongoing enhancement of the Council adopted strategies and plans related to poverty reduction and accessibility. The incumbent will also assist with the implementation of initiatives related to accessibility and poverty reduction, support the facilitation of community and stakeholder engagement processes, contribute to reports on pertinent social development matters, investigate potential grants and other opportunities to enhance and sustain City of Richmond’s accessibility and poverty reduction objectives, assist in responding to information requests from the public, staff, and external agencies, liaise with internal and external contacts on priority accessibility and poverty reduction initiatives, and monitor and compile statistics on current social trends, policies and regulations.Examples of key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Provides planning support to the Planner 2, Poverty Reduction, Accessibility Coordinator and the Program Manager, Social Development by performing a wide variety of planning duties to support the development, implementation and ongoing enhancement of Council adopted strategies and plans related to poverty reduction and accessibility.

Assists with the implementation of initiatives related to accessibility and poverty reduction, including supporting the ongoing development, implementation and enhancement of the Recreation Fee Subsidy Program.

Supports the facilitation of community engagement processes, including outreach activities for the Recreation Fee Subsidy Program.

Investigates potential grants and other opportunities.

Conducts research and analysis; monitors and compiles statistics on current trends, policies and regulations related to poverty reduction and accessibility issues; provides research and analytical support in the development and implementation of Recreation Fee Subsidy Program; and contributes to reports on pertinent accessibility and poverty reduction matters.

Writes reports summarizing issues and assists in the formulation of policies and recommendations.

Liaises with other City departments and other external contacts on priority accessibility and poverty reduction initiatives; gathers and analyzes information for related progress reports within the Community Social Development Department; contacts planning professionals from other jurisdictions; and coordinates meetings for various City-led committees and tables.
