Responsibilities
- The Skilled Laborer is an experienced construction team member who supports project execution through skilled hands-on work, jobsite organization, and collaboration with carpenters and site leadership. This role requires prior construction experience, the ability to safely use common tools and equipment, and a strong understanding of residential building practices You are expected to work independently on assigned tasks, contribute to jobsite productivity, and continue developing toward advanced carpentry and leadership responsibilities.
- Reports To: Site Foreman
Key Responsibilities –
- Assist with residential construction projects from site preparation through completion.
- Perform framing, blocking, material installation, demolition, and general construction tasks.
- Read and interpret measurements, plans, and layout information as directed.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and construction equipment appropriate to experience level.
- Assist with siding, decking, roofing, trim, and finish work as assigned.
- Stage materials and maintain efficient jobsite workflow.
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional jobsites.
- Identify and communicate project issues, material needs, and safety concerns.
- Support punch-list completion and project closeout activities.
- Represent Mountain Building Co. professionally with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1–3 years of construction experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of common construction tools, materials, and building practices.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform basic construction math.
- Ability to follow plans, instructions, and established building standards.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Dependable transportation and reliable attendance.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.

Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry 50 pounds or more regularly.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Climb ladders, work on uneven terrain, kneel, bend, and stand for extended periods.
- Safely operate tools and equipment required for construction activities.
