J.L. Raymaakers & Sons Inc. is seeking an experienced and dependable Skilled Carpenter to join our growing construction team. We’re looking for a motivated individual with strong carpentry and construction experience who takes pride in craftsmanship, works well in a team environment, and is committed to maintaining safe and efficient job sites.
Position Details:
- Location: Western Massachusetts & surrounding areas
- Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday (hours may vary based on operational needs)
- Pay: Competitive hourly rate, based on experience
- Job Type: Full-time
About the Role:
As a Skilled Carpenter, you will work alongside experienced crews on a variety of heavy civil and commercial construction projects. Responsibilities include concrete forming, framing, blueprint reading, and general carpentry work on active construction sites.
Projects may include:
- Concrete foundations
- Bridge construction
- Retaining walls
- Pump station buildings
- Heavy civil and commercial construction projects
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and set concrete forms
- Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
- Perform framing, forming, and general carpentry work
- Safely operate hand and power tools
- Work efficiently with crew members on active job sites
- Maintain strong safety and quality standards
Qualifications:
- Carpentry and construction experience required
- Concrete forming experience preferred
- OSHA 10 certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed outdoors on active construction job sites in varying weather conditions
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting required.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and tools as needed
- Must be comfortable working around heavy equipment and active construction operations
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required at all times on job sites
- Ability to safely perform physically demanding work throughout the day
