The Courthouse Hotel is a unique boutique property in Thunder Bay focused on delivering a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for both guests and team members. We are looking for a reliable and hands-on individual who takes pride in maintaining high property standards.
Job Overview
This role is responsible for the day-to-day upkeep, repair, and overall condition of the property. You will support both preventative maintenance and on-demand repairs to ensure rooms, public areas, and building systems remain in excellent working order.
This is a hands-on role suited for someone who is proactive, dependable, and comfortable working independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine repairs in guest rooms and common areas (plumbing, fixtures, minor electrical, etc.)
- Support HVAC checks and basic troubleshooting (training provided as needed)
- Complete assigned work orders in a timely and professional manner
- Conduct regular property walkthroughs to identify maintenance needs
- Ensure tools, equipment, and maintenance areas are kept organized
- Respond to urgent maintenance issues as they arise
- Assist with preventative maintenance programs
- Work collaboratively with front desk and housekeeping teams
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities, or a similar role preferred
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and general repair work
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Flexible availability, including some weekends if required
- Reliable and consistent attendance is essential
