Shipping Forklift Temporary Jobs in Cowiche, WA at Cowiche Growers, Inc
NARRATIVE: Assists in the warehousing and shipping of palletized fruit through the safe and efficient operation of a forklift. Must have a thorough knowledge of fruit grades, sizes, varieties and packing styles.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – OPERATIONAL
- Check operational functions of forklift before operating (water,oil,brakes,etc.)
- Corrects problems or reports problems to supervisor.
- Responsible for accurately fulfilling orders assigned.
- Ensures proper rotation and shipping (oldest pack) of fruit.
- Operate a forklift efficiently and safely so damage is not caused to persons, pallets, fruit or facilities. Report any damages as soon as possible
- Always makes sure truck driver has set chocks before lifting dock plate to load truck.
- Assists in other departments as needed.
- Understands, follows and complies with company safety policies.
- Responsible for loading truck with correct order number and correct amount load.
- Inspection of every trailer before loading, report of any concern.
- Organize of packed inventory full and partial pallets.
- Ensure red-line system is used to full potential.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – OTHER
· Understands, follows and complies with company safety policies
· Understands, follows and complies with company food safety and sanitation policies
· All other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Repetitious and/or prolonged lifting, walking, standing, sitting and carrying.
- Works in a warehouse environment that is subject to temperature fluctuations.
Pay: $17.53 – $18.06 per hour
