Full job description
We’re looking for a skilled Service Writer to schedule service work, prepare invoices, process work orders and provide assistance to the Service Manager.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a service writer/advisor with a heavy equipment dealer and is very comfortable with a shop environment. Those with experience working in a similar role in an automotive or truck-trailer repair facility may be considered.
Reporting to the Service Manager, this position entails:
Service appointment booking, open/close work orders, correctly tracking time and materials to jobs, parts procurement
Monitoring customer work orders with the Service Manager
Generating well-documented invoices
Receiving payment from point of purchase customers
Maintain filing system, answer phones and direct calls appropriately
Organization and basic upkeep of the office space and office equipment
Skills/Experience Needed:
Mechanically inclined – knowledge of mechanical parts an asset
Knowledge of the heavy duty service industry, Prior service writing experience
Experience using Word/Excel/Outlook
Effective customer service skills that help assure the customer their issues are understood, the timing of their appointment, the status of the job and any updates relative to it, and the final invoice
An organized person that takes pride in keeping things running smoothly
A plus would be parts department experience
