Our client, a growing and well-respected Long-Term Care and Retirement Home organization, is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support financial planning, performance reporting, and strategic decision-making across the business. This role will play a key part in budgeting, forecasting, operational analysis, and mergers & acquisitions initiatives, partnering closely with operational and executive leadership teams to provide actionable insights that drive performance and support continued growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasting cycles, and long-range financial planning initiatives to support organizational goals and growth strategies.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance sophisticated financial models to evaluate business performance, assess strategic opportunities, and support investment decisions.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting packages, providing insightful variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior-year results.
- Partner with site administrators and operational leaders to analyze occupancy levels, staffing costs, resident care expenses, and other key performance indicators to identify opportunities for operational improvement and margin enhancement.
- Support funding applications, government submissions, and regulatory reporting requirements related to the long-term care sector, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Evaluate capital expenditure projects, acquisitions, and strategic growth opportunities through financial analysis, business case preparation, and post-investment reviews.
- Identify financial risks and recommend improvements to controls, reporting processes, and business practices to support a scalable finance function.
- Lead special projects and ad hoc financial analyses for senior leadership, including process improvement initiatives and strategic planning exercises.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and executive teams to provide meaningful reporting and recommendations that support informed decision-making.
Qualifications
- CPA designation (completed or in progress) or MBA preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, FP&A, corporate finance, or a similar role, preferably within healthcare, long-term care, retirement living, or another regulated environment.
- Advanced financial modelling and Excel skills, with proven ability to analyze large datasets and build complex forecasting models.
- Experience using reporting and business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting platforms.
- Strong understanding of Canadian accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting processes.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex financial information into practical business recommendations.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and sound business judgment.
- Self-motivated and collaborative team player with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with ERP systems, reporting tools, and data platforms such as Crystal Reports, Confluence, CRM systems, or similar technologies is considered an asset.
