Senior Cost Analyst
Fernlea Flowers Ltd. is large North American grower and supplier of high-quality garden and potted plants with a head office located in Delhi, Ontario and farms in Florida.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Cost Analyst to support data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives working with large, complex data sets and transforming raw information into meaningful insights.
Working closely with the Finance team and operational leaders, you will play a key role in analyzing cost structures, identifying trends, and developing reporting that supports business performance. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Extract, analyze, and interpret large volumes of data from SQL or similar database systems
- Develop and maintain advanced Excel-based models and reporting tools to support cost analysis
- Perform detailed cost analysis across operations, including:
- Product and production costs
- Logistics and distribution costs
- Expense trends and variances
- Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for cost efficiencies and process improvements
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for leadership
- Design and produce regular and specialized reporting to support operational and financial decision-making
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Sales, Finance) to improve data visibility and accuracy
- Support continuous improvement of data structures, reporting tools, and analytical processes
- Assist with data validation, reconciliation, and integrity across multiple systems
Qualifications
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in cost analysis, financial analysis, or a similar data-focused role
- Strong experience working with large datasets and database systems (SQL or equivalent required)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling)
- Demonstrated ability to integrate large amounts of data into meaningful insights and recommendations
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Experience in a manufacturing, agriculture, or production environment is an asset
- Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present data clearly to non-financial stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel occasionally to our US locations

Pay: $90,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
