Senior BuyerThe Senior Buyer is responsible for sourcing the best procurement opportunities and purchasing products. Senior buyers must be able to read the market effectively and need strong negotiation skills to ensure that they get the best value for the company’s needs.

What we look for?

Engineering bachelor’s degree or a quantitative-focused Business or Mathematics/Statistics degree are considered an asset

Experience establishing vendor agreements, including the ability to strategically assess and mitigate risk with vendors and suppliers

Extensive experience in Microsoft Excel using advanced formulas and pivot tables.

Practical construction experiences an asset

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong leadership skills

Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

What will you do?

Contract and Tender Management:

Spearhead all contracts and tender packages tailored specifically to Rohit Communities Edmonton

Provide valuable assistance with contracts for other divisions

Take charge of managing the tendering process from its inception to its completion, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness at every stage

Maintain, update, and meticulously verify both direct and indirect cost budgets

Continuously evaluate and adjust for variances to ensure financial targets are met

Lead comprehensive cost reviews and cost-to-complete analyses

Supplier Relationship Management:

Cultivate and sustain robust supplier relationships, sourcing new suppliers and materials through strategic business networking efforts

Implement and oversee quality control measures by effectively managing supplier relationships and expectations

High-Level Project Management:

Generate project proformas, projected margin statements, and feasibility assessments, providing valuable insights for decision-making processes

Undertake high-level scheduling and project management duties for subdivisions, ensuring adherence to timelines and milestones

Forecast inventory requirements and implement effective measures for inventory control to optimize resource utilization

Perform tender and pricing analysis, preparing comprehensive reports for presentation to stakeholders

Strategic Guidance:

Keep Executive Management updated on pertinent supplier and market changes, providing informed advice on innovative procurement ideas and opportunities

Identify process issues and spearhead improvement activities aimed at reducing costs or enhancing throughput within the organization

Conduct periodic technical expert toolbox sessions on-site, fostering skill development and knowledge enhancement among team members

Performs other related duties as assigned
