Position: Sanitation CIP Worker

Reports to: Operations Lead Hand/Supervisor or CIP Lead Hand

Job Summary:

We are seeking dedicated Sanitation CIP Worker to join our team in the food industry. This role is vital for upholding high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within our facility, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, and contributing to the production of safe and high-quality food products.

Key Responsibilities:

· Perform thorough cleaning and sanitization of all equipment, surfaces, and production areas according to established protocols and schedules, including machinery, floors, walls, and storage areas.

· Operate and maintain Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems and equipment, ensuring effective cleaning of production lines, tanks, and pipelines.

· Conduct manual cleaning of areas not covered by CIP systems, including production floors, walls, and surfaces.

· Safely use, store, and handle cleaning chemicals, adhering to Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and company guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

· Mix and use cleaning solutions and sanitizers as per manufacturer instructions, ensuring proper concentrations and application methods.

· Regularly inspect and monitor areas to ensure cleanliness standards are met, and report any issues or discrepancies to the supervisor.

· Conduct post-cleaning inspections to verify equipment and areas meet cleanliness standards, including performing swab tests and other quality control measures as required.

· Efficiently manage and dispose of waste, including recycling, in compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.

· Ensure proper disposal of waste materials and maintain clean, orderly storage of cleaning equipment and chemicals.

· Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, inspections, and chemical usage as required by company policy and regulatory agencies.

· Adhere to all safety protocols and food safety regulations (such as GMP, CFIA, SQF, or other relevant standards), ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.

· Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cleaning and sanitation, ensuring alignment with food safety standards and regulations.

· Perform basic maintenance on sanitation equipment and report any need for repairs to ensure all tools and machines are in good working order.

· Dismantle, clean, and reassemble equipment as required for thorough cleaning and sanitation.

· Work closely with production and quality control teams to minimize downtime and align sanitation processes with production schedules.

· Communicate effectively with team members and participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in cleaning, sanitation, and food safety regulations.

· Physical and Environmental Demands:

o Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in various conditions (e.g., wet, hot, cold environments).

o Be willing to work in varying temperatures, and around food allergens and cleaning chemicals.

Qualifications:

· Prior experience in a sanitation role within the food industry or a similar environment is preferred.

· Understanding of food safety standards, cleaning procedures, and chemical handling.

· Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely, handle chemicals, and follow detailed procedures. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

· Capability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in different environmental conditions.

· Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

· Sanitation or food safety certifications are advantageous.

Working Conditions:

· The role involves working in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and exposure to food allergens and cleaning chemicals.

· Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and provided for safety.

· Flexible work hours, including shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays, are necessary to meet production and sanitation schedules.

· Availability to work on a 7-day schedule and be on-call as needed.

· Initial shift hours: Afternoon shift from 3 PM – 11 PM (8hours) or 3 PM – 1 AM (10hours) (Variable)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.00-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
