So in addition to assisting our customers in finding the products they need, ideal successful candidates will have strong communication skills and an ability to think on their feet. Most of our customers arrive sharp-witted… as long as they’ve had their morning coffee.
In addition to the volley of wordplay and ripostes, other duties include:
- Greet customers and provide excellent customer service.
- Provide product knowledge and assist in arriving at solutions for customer needs.
- Process sales transactions in an efficient and accurate manner.
- Ensure that indoor & outdoor work environments are safe, clean, and organized. i.e. sweeping, dusting, and maintenance activities.
- Replenishing shelf inventory with stock after receiving orders, ensuring that all products are properly priced and displayed.
- Assisting with day-to-day operations of the store as needed.
- Aid customers by picking and loading lumber.
What you bring:
- Previous retail with point-of-sale software experience is desirable.
- Provide bright and personalized customer service.
- Go-getter that thrives in learning about new products and problem solving.
- Flexible schedule based on business needs, which includes openings (8am), closings (6pm), and weekends.
- Knowledge of hardware and building supplies is an asset but not a necessity.
- Access to reliable transportation to and from location.
- Ability to lift up to 60lbs without assistance.
We are offering competitive wages commensurate with experience and qualification, with growth opportunities as skills develop through on-site and off-site training.
