Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compliance Assistant to join our team. The Compliance Assistant will play a critical role in ensuring that our organization adheres to regulatory requirements and internal policies. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying compliance risks and implementing effective strategies to mitigate them. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of compliance frameworks and technology platforms.
Responsibilities
- Hire drivers in compliance with MTO & DOT requirements and company processes, and ensure proper use of the enterprise platform provided for this purpose.
- Ensure that driver records and the company’s operating platform are kept updated at all times.
- Comply with all alerts and tasks as defined by enterprise processes.
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs and policies that align with MTO & DOT regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Provide guidance and training to drivers and employees on compliance-related matters, ensuring awareness of relevant policies and procedures.
- Monitor changes in legislation and industry standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Collaborate with various departments to address compliance issues and promote a culture of ethical behavior.
- Prepare reports for senior management regarding compliance status, risks, and recommendations for improvement.
- Respond to compliance inquiries from regulatory bodies and manage any investigations or audits.
- Constantly monitor Driver performance in the Company’s Fleet Management IoT platform and ensure that Drivers with low safety scores and compliance deviations are mentored immediately and dealt with as per Company’s Policies.
- Monitor Driver’s Hours of Service and ensure that the Company is compliant.
- Monitor Driver’s tickets and ensure that the Company’s CVOR is optimized and protected at all times.
- Monitor Fuel Purchases through prescribed Fuel Portals and audit the integrity thereof.
- Monitor all the alerts provided by the Fleet Management IoT Platform and ensure that they are resolved in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Maintain updated compliance records of Trucks, Trailers, Drivers, and any other Rolling Assets.
- Maintain Insurance records and facilitate optimum insurance premiums for Auto, Cargo and CGL Insurance Policies.
Requirements
- A Graduate or Post Graduate with an excellent understanding of systems and processes.
- Proven experience in Safety & Compliance or a related role within the industry.
- Strong knowledge of MTO & DOT requirements with emphasis on Driver Hours of Service.
- Comfortable in the use of technology platforms and data driven environments.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey compliance requirements to diverse audiences.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
