As the manager at Hayloft Steak and Fish the job is to ensure that the day to day operations of the Front Of House (FOH) are managed successfully. This will include assisting with scheduling, hiring, firing, performance reviews, labour cost controls, LBW cost controls, and ensuring the highest of service standards are met. The manager must work hand in hand with their team of service and support staff to ensure that the team is adequately prepared for each and every shift and service.

The manager must ensure that not only the food and drink is served in a timely fashion, but also that it is delivered to the consistent and high standards that are to be expected of the business. The right candidate will aspire to provide warm and genuine hospitality while building relationships and creating memories for guests, ensuring they come back time and again. They must work closely with Chef Paul to ensure that the overall vision and goals for the restaurant are met, this position reports directly to Chef Paul and works collaboratively with the chef and kitchen team to deliver on our guiding principles. They will be expected to not only help lead the dining room staff, but also do their best to contribute to the overall health and wellbeing of the restaurant.

It is also imperative to understand that in this role as the restaurant manager you ensure your actions are looked upon with respect as staff and customers will be watching, both at work, and away from work. This means that you must always conduct yourself with the utmost professionalism and maturity. This includes actions and behaviour not only at the restaurant but on social media platforms as well.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include:

– Leading service staff during both preparation and service

– Ensuring that food service cleanliness and environmental standards are met

– Help contribute to the LBW program

o Including providing unique and creative drink features, within the constraints of the restaurant concept

– Contribute feedback and share ideas regarding new menu development

– Contribute to managing a successful LBW cost on a routine basis

– Contribute to managing successful labour cost on a routine basis

– Coach and develop the next generation of leaders

– Contribute to the overall success of the business

– Be aligned with the vision for the service program and the success of the restaurant as a whole

– Perform any and all duties (within reason) asked of them by direct reports, including serving tables whenever necessary to help achieve cost goals

– Assist in the management of our brand position within the community, through social media, networking events, community outreach etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
