About The Role
Our client is seeking experienced Senior Report Developers to support a large-scale modernization initiative involving the migration of approximately 270 operational reports from legacy court systems to a new CDT solution.
In this role, you will collaborate with project managers, business stakeholders, and technical teams to assess, redesign, and migrate reporting solutions using modern business intelligence tools, primarily Power BI. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical expertise in data modeling, reporting, and analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and assess existing operational reports to understand functionality and business requirements
- Design and develop reports and dashboards using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Report Builder
- Migrate legacy reports to modern BI solutions aligned with organizational standards
- Write and optimize SQL queries (T-SQL / PL-SQL) for data extraction and transformation
- Develop and implement DAX calculations and data models within Power BI
- Collaborate with stakeholders to modernize and improve reporting solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during testing phases
- Ensure compliance with accessibility and reporting standards (e.g., AODA, WCAG 2.0 Level AA)
- Support documentation, knowledge transfer, and reporting standards
- Participate in team meetings, communicate risks/issues, and provide progress updates
Must-Have Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Report Builder
- Minimum 4+ years of experience with SQL (T-SQL and/or PL-SQL)
- Minimum 2+ years of experience with DAX programming and data modeling
- Strong experience in developing reports, dashboards, and data visualizations
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in BI/reporting environments
- Experience working in collaborative team environments
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory or Microsoft SSDT
- Experience designing and optimizing data models for analytics and BI
- Background in financial data reporting and reconciliation
- Experience with prototyping and gathering business requirements
- Knowledge of database design, integration, and testing methodologies
- Experience developing deployment strategies and testing frameworks
- Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Familiarity with public sector or large enterprise environments
