About The Role
The Lead QA Analyst at CI Financial plays a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing the quality assurance processes across multiple projects and releases. This position is responsible for ensuring that all solutions are thoroughly tested and meet business, functional, and technical requirements. The Lead QA Analyst leads test planning, test execution, defect management, and QA coordination, acting as the central point of contact for quality standards, test strategy, and testing governance. The role involves collaborating closely with project managers, developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to embed quality into every stage of the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will bring extensive QA experience, strong leadership skills, and a proactive approach to process improvement, automation, and quality governance, ensuring the delivery of reliable, high-quality software solutions.
Qualifications
- 5–8+ years of QA experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior QA role
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies (functional, regression, integration, UAT, performance, etc.)
- Experience creating comprehensive test plans, test cases, and QA documentation
- Proficiency with QA tools such as Jira, TestRail, Postman
- Excellent analytical, communication, and coordination skills
- Experience with manual and automated testing approaches
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies
- Experience testing APIs, data workflows, or complex enterprise applications (preferred)
- Ability to lead and mentor QA team members
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end QA activities across multiple projects or releases, ensuring adherence to quality standards
- Define, implement, and maintain QA processes, standards, and best practices
- Provide oversight, guidance, and mentorship to QA analysts and testers
- Collaborate with project managers, developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to embed quality throughout the delivery process
- Develop detailed test plans, strategies, and schedules aligned with project timelines
- Identify testing scope, resource needs, risks, and mitigation strategies
- Ensure traceability between business requirements, test cases, and defects
- Oversee manual and automated test case creation, execution, and documentation
- Drive defect triage, prioritization, and resolution in collaboration with development teams
- Monitor testing progress, report QA metrics, and communicate status to leadership
- Evaluate and recommend QA tools, frameworks, and automation solutions
- Support or lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated test suites
- Coordinate with DevOps teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Conduct root-cause analysis on defects and production issues to improve quality processes
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, SDLC frameworks, and audit standards
