JOB SUMMARY: Wright Canada Holdings, operating as the Spectrum Resource Group, is seeking a Camp Attendant for the 2024 tree planting season beginning mid-April through to mid-August. We have 14 million seedlings to plant! Tree planting is one of the toughest jobs on the continent and a skilled and experienced team is required to support the operations. Compensation is competitive and based on industry experience. Over the last 37 years we have employed thousands of tree planters to restore hundreds of thousands of hectares of land disturbed by logging, mining and oil and gas. Spectrum’s Camp Attendant compensation is competitive with other tree planting companies with statutory holiday pay and vacation pay.

Spectrum’s tree planting camps are remote bush camps. Spectrum tree planting camps have a kitchen with meals provided, dining tents, bathrooms, shower facilities, first aid rooms, drinking water and Starlink internet access. Shift schedule is 3 days on, 1 day off rotation but may be subject to change with this position. The Camp Attendant can expect training and mentorship from the camp supervisor before the season and throughout. We maintain a proactive approach to safety and injury prevention with camp first aid attendants and training from industry leading physio therapists on injury prevention and management techniques.

The Reforestation Camp Attendant primarily maintains the camp infrastructure, camp cleanliness/sanitation, performs supply runs and assists kitchen staff as required. Ideal candidates have camp experience, good organizational skills, are diligent while working alone and can perform well under pressure.

The Camp Attendant is responsible for bringing their own sleeping accommodation (e.g., tent, trailer), personal items including clothing, footwear, and toiletries. Spectrum has opportunities to continue working beyond the tree planting season.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Report to and follow instruction from the camp supervisor.

Ensure a safe and productive working environment for employees.

Ensure the camp exceeds company standards and OH&S compliance.

Maintain camp infrastructure as required.

Maintain work area, storage area, and equipment in a condition that promotes good safety practices and in compliance.

Cleaning of camp facilities.

Sanitizing of high traffic area.

Remove and store camp garbage in secure bear proof storage equipment.

Maintain vehicles and equipment as required.

Routinely inspect the camp and equipment.

Working alone.

Occasionally load/unload and transport boxes of seedlings while maintaining best practices for stock handling.

Safely operate large trucks and trailers on resource roads.

Safely load/unload and transport all-terrain vehicles.

Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.
