About the Role:

The Purchasing Assistant is responsible for learning company purchasing policies and procedures and maintaining supply inventory levels required for effective company operation. The Purchasing Assistant will also be charged with conducting regular price comparisons to ensure that the company is always getting the best price for each product that is purchased.

Essential Functions

Maintain strong working relationships with our vendors

Review purchasing agreements with vendors and maintain open lines of communications with those vendors

Develop an active process for measuring supply inventory and determining purchasing needs based on quarterly and annual numbers

Stay up to date with industry trends and establish long-term purchasing arrangements with vendors when it is beneficial to the company

Compare product deliveries with issued purchase orders and contact vendors when there are discrepancies

Regular and predictable attendance

Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location

Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards, if applicable

Other duties as assigned

About You:

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is required

Associates degree or higher is preferred

Minimum 3 years of experience in a purchasing role

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Proven history of effective supply management

Able to create and administer a task priority list based on company needs

What We Offer:

Compensation & Benefits

Salary$45,000 – $70, 000/ year

Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
