Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager specializing in Steel Fabrication to lead complex projects from inception through completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, welding knowledge/training, organizational, and communication skills, with a comprehensive understanding of project management methodologies and tools. This role offers an opportunity to oversee multiple projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality steel fabrication solutions aligned with client specifications and industry standards.
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects on time, within budget, and according to specifications. This role coordinates teams, resources, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Coordination
- Review project scope, drawings, and specifications
- Develop project schedules, timelines, and milestones
- Plan labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor needs
- Coordinate with estimating and engineering teams during project kickoff
Team & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, suppliers, and internal teams
- Lead communication between shop, field crews, and management
- Coordinate subcontractors and external vendors
Execution & Oversight
- Oversee project progress to ensure work meets specifications and deadlines
- Conduct site visits and inspections as needed
- Resolve issues related to design, fabrication, or installation
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting throughout the project
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure projects comply with safety regulations and company policies
- Promote a strong safety culture on job sites
- Ensure adherence to applicable codes and standards
Quality Control
- Ensure all work meets required quality standards
- Review drawings, revisions, and changes for accuracy
- Address deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are taken
Requirements
- Proven experience supervising complex projects within steel fabrication or related manufacturing industries.
- Strong proficiency in engineered drawing comprehension.
- Demonstrated vendor management skills and experience negotiating contracts or agreements with external partners.
- Expertise in risk management strategies and quality assurance processes in manufacturing environments.
- Excellent leadership capabilities with a track record of managing diverse teams effectively; experience supervising teams is essential.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement at all levels; adept at presentations and reporting.
- Technical familiarity with ERP systems like INFOR.

Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
