Lead Production Operations at a Growing Manufacturing Facility
Dudley’s is seeking an experienced and motivated Production Manager to oversee daily plant operations across food production, packaging, sanitation, warehouse coordination, and shipping activities. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring efficient production flow, maintaining high-quality and food-safety standards, and fostering a productive, team-oriented work environment.
At Dudley’s, we specialize in USDA-inspected meat processing, food production, packaging, wholesale distribution, and shipping operations, delivering quality products to customers throughout the region. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience in food production, processing, warehouse, or distribution environments who can support efficient operations while leading and developing production teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily meat processing, packaging, sanitation, warehouse, and shipping operations to ensure efficiency, product quality, and timely order fulfillment
- Coordinate staffing, workflow, inventory, and operational priorities to support production and distribution needs
- Supervise, train, and support production team members and shift leads in a fast-paced environment
- Promote a positive, accountable, and team-oriented workplace culture
- Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, attendance management, and ongoing team member development
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, and minimize downtime
- Monitor equipment performance, inventory usage, production reporting, and shipping coordination
- Encourage strong communication and collaboration across departments
- Ensure compliance with USDA, GMP, HACCP, OSHA, and company safety standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready production environment
- Enforce sanitation procedures and proper use of PPE throughout the facility
- Monitor product quality and implement corrective actions when needed
- Maintain accurate production, safety, and compliance documentation
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous leadership experience in manufacturing, food production, meat processing, warehouse operations, or related industrial environments
- Ability to perform administrative tasks, including production reporting, scheduling, documentation, and operational recordkeeping
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other computer programs used for production tracking, inventory management, communication, and reporting
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations, production processes, and quality control standards
- Experience managing production schedules, staffing, and workflow coordination
- Ability to lead teams in fast-paced production environments
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Experience with inventory systems, production reporting, or ERP systems is a plus
- Forklift or pallet jack experience is beneficial
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in refrigerated and freezer environments as needed
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Comfortable working around production equipment, machinery, and warehouse operations
Work Environment
This role operates within a production and warehouse setting that may include:
- Refrigerated and freezer environments
- Wet or fast-paced production areas
- Exposure to food manufacturing equipment and machinery
- Required use of PPE, including gloves, aprons, hairnets, and safety gear
