Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a motivated Production Assistant to join our Stair & Railing Division. This position involves manufacturing stair components, including posts and rails, by taking raw material and producing finished products. The ideal candidate will have hands-on woodworking experience, familiarity with common woodworking machinery, and the ability to support our team with custom builds and occasional onsite installs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate woodworking machinery including jointers, planers, table saws, band saws, sanders, and related tools
- Assist in the custom wood shop with the production of stair-related components
- Support the team with installations when required
- Perform quality checks to ensure finished products meet company standards
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace
- Lift and move materials up to 50 lbs as required
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous woodworking or carpentry experience a asset
- Hands-on experience with jointers, planers, table saws, band saws, and sanders
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Physically fit and comfortable with material handling and lifting
- Positive mindset and eagerness to learn new skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
