Little Caterpillars Early Child Care Education is seeking a passionate and experienced Pre-K Lead Teacher to join our team. We are a high-quality early learning center committed to preparing children for kindergarten through engaging, structured, and nurturing learning environments.
Position Details
- Job Title: Pre-K Lead Teacher
- Pay Rate: $19-$20 per hour
- Schedule: Monday – Friday
- Hours: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Location: Columbus, Ohio
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans using Creative Curriculum
- Support school readiness through literacy, math, social-emotional, and hands-on learning activities
- Maintain a structured and engaging classroom environment
- Complete assessments and observations (Teaching Strategies GOLD preferred)
- Ensure compliance with ODJFS licensing and Step Up To Quality (SUTQ) standards
- Supervise children at all times to ensure safety and well-being
- Maintain daily communication with parents through apps such as Brightwheel
- Keep classroom clean, organized, and fully stocked
- Create and maintain portfolios, art displays, and evidence of learning boards
Qualifications
- CDA, Associate Degree, or higher in Early Childhood Education (preferred)
- Experience as a Lead Pre-K Teacher
- Knowledge of Creative Curriculum and child assessments
- Understanding of ODJFS licensing rules
- Must be able to pass background check and meet state requirements
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
