Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Power BI Developer to join our data analytics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports to support business decision-making processes. This role requires a strong understanding of data visualization tools, data warehousing, and various big data technologies. The Power BI Developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex data into actionable insights, ensuring data accuracy and integrity across multiple platforms.

Duties

  • Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards and reports tailored to business needs.
  • Integrate data from diverse sources including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Hadoop, and Big Data platforms.
  • Optimize data models for performance and scalability within Power BI and related tools.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to gather requirements and deliver solutions that enhance analytics capabilities.
  • Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive strategic decisions.
  • Maintain data warehouse structures and ensure consistency across various databases such as SQL, Oracle, and Hadoop ecosystems.
  • Implement automation scripts using VBA, Bash (Unix shell), or Shell Scripting to streamline data processing workflows.
  • Utilize cloud services like AWS for scalable data storage and processing solutions.
  • Follow Agile methodologies to deliver iterative improvements on dashboards and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with best practices in database design, security, and data governance.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Power BI development with strong visualization skills.
  • Extensive experience with SQL Server, Oracle, and Data Warehouse design principles.
  • Knowledge of Big Data technologies including Hadoop, Apache Hive, Spark, and Informatica.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS for cloud-based analytics solutions.
  • Programming skills in Python for data manipulation and analysis tasks.
  • Experience with Java development is a plus for integrating various systems.
  • Strong understanding of Analytics concepts and Data Analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of Shell Scripting (Bash/Unix shell) for automation purposes.
  • Database design expertise with attention to performance optimization.
  • Experience working within Agile project management frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Hadoop ecosystem components like Spark and Hive enhances analytical capabilities.

Pay: $36,000.00-$46,000.00 per year
