Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Edmonton, AB, for the position of Police Officer. The Police Officer will be responsible for maintaining public safety, enforcing laws, responding to emergencies, conducting investigations, and building relationships within the community to prevent crime and resolve disputes. Tasks will also include patrolling assigned areas, writing detailed reports, and collaborating with fellow officers and community members to uphold EPS's mission and values.
Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication, active listening, and interpersonal relationship-building skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess situations and make sound decisions under pressure
- Physical fitness, self-discipline, and stress management skills to handle the demands of police work effectively
- Knowledge of criminal law, investigative techniques, and public safety protocols
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to diverse and dynamic environments
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards, acting with accountability, and treating all individuals with respect
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education, particularly in criminology, law enforcement, or a related field, is considered an asset
- A valid driver's license and the ability to meet physical and psychological assessment requirements
- Prior experience in community service, public safety, or volunteer roles is an advantage
