Animal Movers. is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Pet Relocation Coordinator based in Vancouver to assist with domestic and international pet shipments. This role supports airline cargo bookings, documentation, CFIA coordination, and on-the-ground logistics at Vancouver International Airport (YVR).
The ideal candidate is organized, calm under pressure, comfortable working with pets, and able to coordinate between clients, veterinarians, airlines, and government offices.
Key Responsibilities
Pet Shipment Coordination
- Coordinate pet cargo check-ins at Cargo and other airline terminals at YVR
- Attend cargo drop-offs and ensure kennels, labels, and documents are correct
- Verify IATA kennel compliance (size, water bowls, fasteners, labels)
Documentation & Compliance
- Review and verify export documentation:
- Veterinary Health Certificates and vaccination records
- Import permits and airline paperwork (AWB, cargo forms)
- Assist with CFIA endorsement appointments when required
- Ensure all documents are properly attached to kennels and copies retained
Airline & Agent Liaison
- Communicate with airline cargo staff, ground handling agents, and international partner agents
- Provide shipment updates and confirmations to head office in Calgary
Client Support
- Meet pet owners at cargo terminals and guide them through check-in procedures
- Provide calm, professional assistance on travel day
Logistics & Coordination
- Coordinate overnight boarding and local ground transport when needed
- Report any delays or issues to head office immediately
Qualifications
Required
- Based in Vancouver or the Lower Mainland
- Reliable vehicle (van or SUV is an asset)
- Comfortable handling dogs and cats of all sizes
- Strong attention to detail and professional communication skills
- Available for early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed
- Basic computer skills (email, PDF review, WhatsApp)
Preferred (Not Mandatory)
- Experience in air cargo, freight forwarding, veterinary clinics, or animal handling
- Familiarity with IATA Live Animals Regulations, CFIA export process, or international pet travel
Training and guidance will be provided.
