POSITION: Behavioural Supports Ontario (BSO) PSW
West Perth Village (Ritz Lutheran Villa)
Full-Time
POSITION SUMMARY: The Villa will be assigning select PSWs to focus care, at West Perth Village, on residents that experience responsive behaviours. This assignment: 1) Targets high-demand behaviours, 2) Aims to help the whole team think holistically about behaviours, 3) Encourages the whole team to be active participants in resident assessments, 4) Includes typical PSW care duties, 5) Focuses primarily on BSO case load residents
REPORTS TO: Director of Care
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible
QUALIFICATIONS:
Personal Support Worker certificate
Experience working with the vulnerable population, in a long term care setting preferred
Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) training an asset
Must be capable of meeting the physical demands of the job and apply effective body mechanics
Excellent interpersonal skills and able and willing to work as an effective team member
Experience:
Any relevant Behavioural Support Ontario (BSO) education preferred
Abilities:
Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Ability to adapt to changing and emerging care practices is also required.
