As a Consultant, you will operate at a senior advisory level, mentoring and influencing a team of Advisors, setting direction, building capability, and ensuring consistency of practice, while also providing expert advice and guidance to leaders across the organization. You will lead complex and sensitive matters, including workplace investigations, escalated performance concerns, and conflict resolution, approaching each with sound judgment, professionalism, and a calm, credible presence that builds trust and helps parties move toward resolution. You will partner with leaders to understand their needs, ask the right questions, and develop practical, balanced solutions, supporting informed decision-making. You bring strong judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to influence leaders while navigating ambiguity and competing priorities. Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of six to eight years of progressive experience in employee relations or HR consulting within a unionized environment.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated expertise in labour relations, including the interpretation and application of collective agreements, is essential. Experience leading complex workplace investigations and managing high-risk, sensitive employee relations matters is required. A recognized certification in workplace investigations is also required. The successful candidate demonstrates strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. They bring advanced conflict resolution, negotiation, and mediation skills, along with the ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and diplomacy in complex and sensitive situations. The role requires the ability to manage competing priorities, navigate ambiguity, and maintain composure in high-pressure environments. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is preferred. Experience in a unionized healthcare environment, with a strong understanding of care delivery and organizational structures. Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, or develop others in a professional setting.
