Position Summary
We are looking for an optometric assistant/optician to join our growing office. We are a boutique practice located in scenic Fergus providing an unmatched level of patient care and customer service.
Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized and efficient multi-tasker with strong interpersonal skills, who is committed to providing high quality customer service and patient care. Prior experience in an optical or optometric setting is preferred but not required.
Saturday availability is a must.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receptionist duties including greeting patients and answering phones in a friendly and professional manner
- Pre-testing patients using diagnostic equipment
- Helping patients with frame selection and dispensing eyewear
- Ordering ophthalmic lenses and contact lenses from suppliers
- Booking and confirming appointments
- Faxing and scanning documents
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong basic math skills
- General computer proficiency
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time with competing priorities
- Good critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Approachable, adaptable and coachable
- Self-motivated with a desire for continual learning & improvement. Possesses a "can do" spirit & strong drive for results
- CCOA or Optician certification preferred but not required.
Compensation:
- Commensurate with experience and certification
